Now in its fifth year, Parallel Lifestyle’s Purple Sock Day is an annual national act of mass participation on December 3 to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD).
This year’s #PurpleSockDay campaign will again support the work of the British Association for Supported Employment (BASE).
The Purple Sock Day Fund enables BASE to offer financial support to organisations or individuals who are building self- employment and entrepreneurship opportunities with disabled and neurodivergent people. The proceeds from Purple Sock Day goes directly to providing grants for disabled entrepreneurs and disabled-owned businesses.
Profits from Purple Sock Day are also used to re-invest into growing the campaign and Parallel Windsor, a national celebration of disability inclusion and wellbeing.
