There’s just one year to go until the 2024 Paralympic Games takes place just a short hop across the English Channel.
And to give fans the chance to get closer to the action, ParalympicsGB is offering one lucky prize winner, plus a guest, the chance to win a dream trip to Paris 2024 to witness some of the British athletes in action.
Paris 2024 will be the first Paralympic Games since London 2012 when all the action takes place while the UK public is awake, presenting a massive opportunity to reconnect with fans and build a whole new audience.
With Channel 4 committing to more live coverage than ever before and Paris such a well-connected city for travel from the UK, these Games promise to create the biggest buzz around Paralympic sport since London 2012.
“Paris 2024 presents an incredible opportunity to reconnect the British public with the unique thrill of seeing outstanding sporting performances live, either at the venue or watching and listening in the UK,” said Penny Briscoe OBE, ParalympicsGB Chef de Mission.
“With thousands of fans and friends and family in the venues and millions more following the action at home we see this as our biggest moment since London 2012 to deepen our connection with the British public. Nothing beats the feeling of watching sport live.”
Each games brings new athletes and new disciplines to the public consciousness and ParalympicsGB have been proving they will be a force to be reckoned with once again with a succession of world class performances at recent championships.
The successes include winning 29 medals at the World Para Athletics Championships in Paris, securing 38 medals at the World Para Swimming Championships in Manchester and 44 at the World Cycling Championships in Glasgow.
A host of British athletes also enjoyed success competing at the inaugural European Para Championships this month, winning medals in a range of sports including Archery, Badminton, Wheelchair Basketball, Boccia, Judo, Taekwondo and Wheelchair Tennis.
At Tokyo 2020 ParalympicsGB won medals across a record breaking 18 different sports - the highest number of any nation ever. ParalympicsGB finished second on the medal table with 124 medals overall, including 41 gold, 38 silver and 45 bronze.
