PIP Tracker Provides Stress Free Process

The UK’s first money-saving platform for those with a disability or long-term chronic health condition has launched a new free app to help disabled people navigate the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Adult Disability Payment (ADP) application process.
In the 2026 government PIP review, 90% of respondents viewed the process of claiming negatively, and described it as “dehumanising”, “degrading” and “stressful”.
One of the most challenging parts of the process is keeping a consistent record of symptoms and how they affect everyday life, as well as the use of supporting evidence - which the review found to be “too often inconsistent”.
In response, Purpl has developed a free PIP & ADP tracker to help applicants keep all of this information in one place, and help reduce the stress and anxiety surrounding the application process.
For many people, the information required for a PIP or ADP claim needs to be recorded over many weeks or months. Keeping track of symptoms and their impacts on day-to-day life can be difficult to recall over such a long period of time, particularly when applicants are already navigating the practicalities of their condition.
“Applying for or undergoing a review for PIP can feel like a huge amount to manage, particularly when you’re already navigating the time, energy, cost and mental load that it takes to manage a disability or long-term health condition,” said Georgina Colman (pictured above), founder of Purpl and disability advocate who lives with multiple sclerosis (MS) and ADHD.
“We’ve seen from the government’s 2026 PIP review that almost all respondents viewed the process negatively, and have even walked away feeling dehumanised, degraded, and stressed. Disabled and chronically ill people don’t deserve to feel like that.
“We wanted to create a tool that genuinely makes the process easier and reduces their stress and anxiety.”
Purpl members were involved in shaping the final design and functionality of the tracker, and have trialled the tracker, providing feedback every step of the way.
“This symptom tracker is a godsend. It allows me to log how I’m managing (or not) every day, like a diary, so that, when my PIP reassessment happens, I have all of the information to hand and can complete the form without stress,” said Annie Daniel, a case study participant who trialled the tracker.
Purpl’s “PIP & ADP Tracker” features crucial activity tracking, including preparing food; eating and drinking; managing medication or treatment; washing and bathing; toilet needs or incontinence; dressing and undressing; communicating; and reading and understanding.
Every activity features a section to mark against the reliability test, asking users if they can complete the task safely, repeatedly, and in a reasonable time.
Users can then create reports and discover insights based on their data, which shows the difficulty level by activity at a glance over the past seven days, four weeks, and across the last three months. Those with the app can also track their medications and get daily reminders.
The Purpl “PIP & ADP Tracker” is free to use and available to anyone undergoing a PIP claim or review. To find out more visit https://www.purpldiscounts.com/piptracker
