TV Presenter Laura Hamilton Launches New Year Charity Shop Challenge

A Place in the Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has teamed up with The Children’s Trust to inspire shoppers in Surrey and Kent to ‘Dress to impress for less’.

And those that do are in with a chance of winning some great prizes.

From Monday (January 15) until 29, shoppers will be challenged to reinvigorate their shopping habits – and their wardrobes – by putting together an outfit from a treasure trove of pre-loved items in The Children’s Trust’s charity shops and sharing a photo of their creation on Instagram.

Laura Hamilton will then choose one lucky winner and two runners-up to each receive vouchers to spend in any of The Children’s Trust’s 14 charity shops in Surrey and Kent.

To take part:

1. Find and visit a local The Children’s Trust charity shop.

2. Buy three items of clothing to create a pre-loved outfit that will stand out from the crowd.

Mention ‘Dress to impress for less’ at the till for a 10% discount.

3. Share a photo of the outfit on Instagram, tagging @childrens_trust.

By taking part in the challenge, participants will not only be supporting their local high street, championing sustainable fashion and getting a new outfit at a bargain price during a cost-of-living crisis, but every purchase will also help The Children’s Trust continue to provide life-changing support to children and young people with brain injury and neurodisability.

“I’m delighted to be launching The Children’s Trust’s ‘Dress to impress for less’ competition this January,” said Laura Hamilton.

“I love shopping in charity shops – everything you buy has had its own life before it even catches your eye, and then you get to create your own exciting memories with it. What’s more, you get to support a brilliant cause while giving your wardrobe a sustainable refresh.

“The Children’s Trust is very close to my heart. The level of care the charity provides for children with brain injury and neurodisability is inspiring. I love that by shopping in their charity shops I get to support these children and their families when they need it most. Good luck everyone, I can’t wait to see what gems you discover!”
