Supercar Fundraiser a Roaring Success

An incredible £12,622 was raised for Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity (DVLCC) at an action-packed charity supercar event.

Thrill-seekers, local families and supporters of DVLCC, which works to transform the lives of children under five with cerebral palsy and other motor learning impairments, raised the money at the first Saywell International Charity Track Day of the year.

From exotic hypercars to prestigious performance vehicles, there was plenty to admire at Goodwood Motor Circuit in Sussex, and lucky attendees got the chance to experience the excitement first-hand through passenger rides.

DVLCC provided even more entertainment, with people able to dance and sing along to Dame Vera Lynn’s timeless classics, beautifully performed by Katie Ashby from the of D-Day Darlings.

The event was one of four charity track days generously hosted by Peter Saywell throughout the year, with all proceeds from each event benefiting a chosen charity. DVLCC was delighted to be selected as one of this year's beneficiaries.

Supporting children and families across the Southeast, Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity delivers a range of specialist therapies for children with cerebral palsy, rare genetic disorders, chromosome abnormalities and other conditions that cause physical impairments.

Children benefit from free early intervention services including physiotherapy, conductive education, speech and language therapy, music therapy, swimming, rebound therapy and outreach home-play support, helping them achieve milestones once thought impossible.

Founded by Dame Vera Lynn, the charity is proudly celebrating its 25^th anniversary this year, marking a quarter of a century of helping children reach their full potential through specialist early intervention.

The funds raised from the Saywell Supercar Track Day will have a direct and lasting impact. It costs approximately £7,000 per year to provide a child with the bespoke support they need to develop essential mobility, communication and independence skills. The £12,622 raised will help fund life-changing support for two additional children and their families, ensuring they can access the specialist therapies they need during the most critical years of development.

As demand for services continues to grow, DVLCC has set an ambitious goal of supporting 25 more children this year, enabling even more families across the Southeast to access expert support and life-changing opportunities.
