Standing Wheelchair to Support Manchester Arena Survivor

Leading recruitment specialist Pertemps has funded a state-of-the-art standing wheelchair for Manchester Arena bombing survivor Martin Hibbert to support his continued work in advocacy and public speaking.

Martin, who sustained life-changing spinal injuries in the 2017 Manchester Arena attack, has since become a powerful voice for the spinal injury community, dedicating his time to raising awareness, supporting others and championing accessibility through his role as Vice President of the Spinal Injuries Association.

Through this work, Martin developed a relationship with Pertemps Lifetime President, Tim Watts, who wanted to support Martin’s future endeavours and help enhance his independence and mobility as his public speaking career continues to grow.

The specialist standing wheelchair will provide Martin with greater flexibility and physical support, enabling him to engage with audiences more comfortably and confidently while continuing his advocacy work across the UK and beyond.

“Martin is an extraordinary individual whose resilience, positivity and commitment to helping others is truly inspiring,” said Tim Jones, Head of Marketing and Sponsorship at Pertemps (pictured above with Martin) .

“We are proud to support him with this standing wheelchair, which we hope will assist him in continuing his incredible work, both within the spinal injuries community and through his growing public speaking career.”
