Live to Your Living Room returns next week (September 3) with folk scene legend Ashley Hutchings.
A founding member of Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Albion Band, Ashley will kick-off a new season of live online music from top quality artists, gig quality sound and no queue at the bar.
He'll be joined by his son Blair Dunlop to talk about their careers in music, their father and son relationship in the folk world and, of course, share some of their favourite songs.
As if that wasn't enough to get the season off to a cracking start, the equally legendary Steve Knightly will be Live to Your Living Room’s star turn on September 12.
Launched by Cat McGill and fellow musician, producer and educator Pete Ord, Live to your Living Room delivers the very best of the folk, roots, and acoustic music scene live to your home.
Originally set-up as a means of providing professional musicians with a vital lifeline and viable income stream while venues were closed during lockdown, Live to Your Living Room turned out to be a lot more than that.
“I soon realised our gigs were appealing not just to people who could no longer go to gigs because of Covid but to people who could never go to gigs because of their disability,” said Cat, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 37.
“People who had felt excluded from attending live gigs for so long because of insurmountable problems in getting there, just too ill or, as is the case with autistic people, completely out of their comfort zone in a social setting.”
