Innovative SEND Resource Pack Launched

A UK charity supporting disabled and neurodivergent children has partnered with an online educational publisher to produce a collection of free resources to support children's emotional wellbeing.

Caudwell Children, which provides practical and emotional support for disabled and neurodivergent children and their families, has teamed up with Twinkl to produce an innovative resource pack.

Aimed at children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families, it’s packed with engaging tools, including mindfulness colouring, emotions wheels, and breathing technique posters.

The resources are downloadable and printable, allowing families to easily access the elements that resonate with them and their child.

The new tools complement Twinkl’s free webinars designed for SEND families, a dedicated weekly email, which highlights a variety of supportive resources and a Parents SEND Facebook community group, providing information and peer support.

“With this resource, parents and carers will discover how to have meaningful conversations about feelings and mental health,” said Amanda Protheroe, Parent Educational Content Lead (SEND) at Twinkl.

Founded in 2000 by entrepreneur, business leader and philanthropist John Caudwell, Caudwell Children has grown over the past 25 years into a leading UK charity dedicated to supporting disabled and neurodivergent children and their families.

The charity’s services include autism assessments, specialist equipment and funding, family support sessions, and occupational therapy.

“We’re proud to have collaborated with the talented and experienced team at Twinkl on these high-quality, free resources,” said Nick Read, Chief Operating Officer at Caudwell Children.

“It’s fitting to be launching them at a time when SEND education is in the spotlight, following the recent publication of the Schools White Paper and SEND reform proposals.

“Whatever impact the changes may have in the coming months and years, Caudwell Children will be here, offering support to families throughout. This pack of helpful, practical resources is another way in which we’re making daily life just a little bit easier for SEND families.”
