The Final Summit is in Sight

Best of luck to LWD’s good friend Hari Budha Magar MBE who is set to be the first double-above-knee amputee to climb the highest peaks on the world’s seven continents.

He is currently climbing Mt. Vinson in Antartica (4,892m) to complete the challenge and inspire others to climb their own mountains and conquer their dreams.

After climbing Mt Blanc (4,810m), Mt Kilimanjaro (5,895m) and becoming the world’s first double above-knee amputee to summit Mt. Everest (8,849m) in May 2023, Hari decided to complete the 7 Summits to make further awareness of disability around the world.

He has since reached the summits of Denali in North America (6,190m), Aconcagua in South America (6,961m) and Carstensz Pyramid (Puncak Jaya) in Oceania (4,884m).

Just one to go.

The veteran, who lost both legs while serving in Afghanistan, is using the challenge to raise money for veterans’ charities, including On the Gurka Welfare Trust, Blesma, Team Forces Course Foundation, and Pilgrim Bandits.
