Leading dance charity icandance has teamed up with the prestigious Tring Park School for the Performing Arts to redefine opportunities within inclusive arts education.
Rooted in shared values of creativity, inclusion, and excellence, the groundbreaking partnership will create unique platforms where disabled and nondisabled young performers learn, grow, and celebrate the transformative power of dance together.
The initiative includes joint workshops, artist development programmes, and co-created performance opportunities designed to cultivate empathy, imagination, and artistic confidence.
"This partnership is a celebration of what’s possible when education and inclusion come together to elevate young people in the performing arts," explains Juliet Diener, Founder and Artistic Director of icandance, set-up to empower disabled children and young people through movement.
"Together with Tring Park, we’re creating space for connection, belonging, bold artistic expression and changing perspectives."
Tring Park School’s Director of Dance, Lorraine Jones, echoed the sentiment.
"Collaborating with icandance brings richness to our school community. It allows our students to develop as artists and allies - learning from the beautiful diversity of human movement and expression and understanding what dance really brings to the world.”
The collaboration is already in motion with a series of events planned for the upcoming academic year. This marks a significant step forward in ensuring disabled artists are celebrated and empowered from the classroom to the stage.
