Oska Bright Film Festival

ree

The red carpet is ready to be rolled out for the highly anticipated 21st Oska Bright Film Festival.

The world’s leading festival for films made by, or featuring, people with learning disabilities or autism returns to the big screen in March 2026.

Founded in 2004 by a group of learning-disabled filmmakers frustrated at having nowhere to show their work, the BAFTA qualifying Oska Bright Film Festival has grown from a one-day celebration event to seven days of screenings.

The upcoming festival in Brighton will screen around 100 films, chosen from more than 450 submissions, from March 28 to April 2.

“With less than 5% of disabled people working in the UK film industry, the festival is about shifting that mindset to a more inclusive approach, recognising the talent that’s out there and backing it,” said Lizzie Banks, Deputy Artistic Director.
