Handmade Craft & Food Fair Kick-Starts Festive Fun

clive579

A unique community where people with learning disabilities live and work will be getting into the festive spirit on Saturday (November 11).

The Camphill MK Handmade Craft & Food Fair will showcase the craft and culinary skills of its residents - offering the perfect opportunity for the people of Buckinghamshire to start their Christmas shopping.

The charity’s talented residents will be joined at the event by 30 local crafters, makers and artisans, selling preserves, soaps, candles, textiles, upcycled wood, jewellery, festive gifts, and street food.

Founded in 1981, Camphill MK provides support and a meaningful working life for adults with a wide range of learning disabilities. Its aim is to create a safe and stimulating environment, fully integrated into the surrounding community that allows individuals to develop in accordance with their own needs.

“Our Handmade Food & Craft Fairs are an excellent opportunity to share our work, build relationships with fellow crafters from the local area and show off the creative skills of our residents and staff,” said Tim Davies, CEO of Camphill MK.

The free event will take place at the Chrysalis Theatre, Camphill MK Communities, Japonica Lane, Willen Park, Milton Keynes, between 10am and 3pm.
