A ground-breaking new exhibition is to showcase the radical contributions of Disabled, Deaf, and neurodivergent people to contemporary design and culture from the 1940s to now.
‘Disability and Design’ at the iconic V&A museum in London will show how disabled people have designed for every aspect of life through their own experience and expertise, tracing the political and social history of design and disability.
Displayed across three sections – Visibility, Tools and Living – 170 objects, spanning design, art, architecture, fashion, and photography will highlight the rich history of disabled designers challenging ableism in the design industry.
Design & Disability runs from June 7 to February 15, 2026. For further details visit www.vam.ac.uk/exhibitions/design-and-disability or see the feature in the current edition of Living with Disability.
