A stunning new collection of thrilling ocean-themed films is currently being screened throughout the UK as part of the Ocean Film Festival World Tour.
Now in its 11th year, the popular festival celebrates stories that inspire action and raise awareness of the beauty and fragility of our ocean.
“The Ocean Film Festival Tour is a platform for storytelling that brings the beauty, challenges and importance of our oceans to audiences around the world,” says festival founder and CEO Jemima Robinson.
“This year's line-up is testament to the incredible adventures, talents and environmental messages that resonate with us all. We are thrilled to share these inspiring films and celebrate the magic of the ocean.”
This year's six festival films showcase heart-pounding water sports, captivating marine wildlife, and the incredible stories of those who live their lives connected to the sea.
Including that of photographer and surfer Mike Coots (pictured) in Nolan Grose’s short film ‘The Call’. Raised on the shores of a Hawaiian island, Mike forged a deep bod for the ocean from an early age.
But at the age of 18, Mike lost his right leg above the knee in a harrowing shark attack. Turning fate into purpose, Mike became a passionate shark conservation advocate.
Using his camera to capture the grace and majesty of sharks, he shares their story to give back to the ocean in his own way.
